10K
Well its done! I actually competed in FINISHED my first 10k.. (by no means was I any sort of competition for anyone.. well except the (literally) 4 people that finished after me)... I absolutely dont care one bit though. I am just proud that I did it and finished. I know I could have pushed myself to do better and I also know that if the race had been 2 weeks prior I could have done even better.
Two weeks before the race, Oliver and I got a cold. I took him to the doctor and with a little amoxicillian he was better in a jiffy.. I am not that thoughtful with myself so I toughed it out. I couldn't run or train so I fell behind. On the night before the race, I went on a walk to the playground for the first time in 2 weeks. Not smart at all.
I also brought Oliver... I wasn't going to but decided last minute to bring him. He does great at 5k's and I love that this is our thing... The 10k at 8am was way too much for him. 8am is the time when he is just waking and playing so having him sit still for 6.2 miles was a battle equally as difficult as the course itself. At one point I was actually carrying him while running and pushing the stroller.. Nightmarish to say the least. (I plan to make 5k's Oliver and I's thing... 10k's will be solely for me)
I also ran with a friend who had been under the weather as well and having some life things to discuss during the race, so she wanted to chat.. You cant chat during a 10k... Enough said.
SO there are my excuses... None the less I finished and it was sooo amazing to be involved in an event like this.
The 10k was at Lake Lanier and it was a charity race for all the soldiers from Georgia who lost their lives in the Afghanistan war. Along the course there were army men guiding and cheering everyone on.. Army men with rifles lined the start of the race and even did a gunfire shotgun start.. There were army trucks for kids to see and get on and memorials along the course that had a fallen soldiers name, age, picture, and kia (killed in action) date.. so sad to see all these 19 and 20 year old boys that died... event sadder when I then look down at my little boy and realize what their parents endured. A solider even commented on Oliver "running" in the race and told him he was his hero... I nearly lost it... I replied with how he was our hero.... Just absolutely stunning the American pride that flowed through my veins that day.
Even if Oliver may be partly to blame for my poor performance, I am still glad I brought him to that and will continue to make that an annual tradition of ours, we will just run the 5k with all the other strollers. (for the record, there was only 1 other mom with a stroller in the 10k and she was a serious 0% body fat type of runner)

Head, Shoulders, Knees and ......
Oliver now knows a lot of his body parts and it is too funny.. His favorite song is "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" and we sing it often, often enough that sometimes I find myself singing it when he isn't even around. A few weeks ago, we noticed that Oliver kept smacking himself on the head.. of course our 1st conclusion was that he lost it but we were wrong. Oliver kept smacking his head when he wanted to sing the song.. :) So proud and sorry we doubted him.. So now he for sure knows where his head. eyes. mouth (also knows boca from Dora), hands, belly, toes and natural for any boy he knows where his pee pee is..
Speaking of pee pee, stay tuned for a good story. He is a little confused at times where his nose and ears are and we haven't really discussed the rest.. He knows the word butt (i know, we should have used bottom or booty but I figured after watching football or even a stressful baseball season, he is going to hear way worse words) So proud of our little guy... and I'm a little scared... He sure does love his pee pee and LOVES, i mean loves to be naked.. I can already envision the notes I'm going to be signing. haha
Like this little diddy... The other day, Oliver was naked... We were all in the living room and I was trying to coarse him back over near me so we can put his pj's and diaper on... He was running around giggling like a school girl.. He was looking out the window and that's when I faintly heard splatter and the goofiest giggle ever. Daniel and I raced around the chair to see what was going on and Oliver screamed and took off running in the funniest squealy giggle ever!! We continued to chase him cause it was the absolute funniest squeal and laughter... Too funny.. I then cleaned up the pee pee!
Another, clean up story... Haha.. i cant even type without laughing..... I was on the phone in our bedroom hooked up to the charger, talking to someone from work and I hear Daniel yelling "Kelly, help"... "Kelly (he never calls me Kelly).... i ignore him cause now that I have more responsibility at work, I need to take a phone call here and there (haha)... well then I see Daniel and Oliver at the door and Daniel is yelling and pointing at Oliver who I now notice has his diaper around his ankle while still fully dressed!!! Then Daniel is screaming, gagging and FREAKING out cause he actually stepped in some poop that has fallen out of Oliver's diaper that is around his fully dressed (with socks and shoes) ankle. I then get off the phone cause I am dying laughing and almost causing my own accident.. haha... to make the ordeal even worse, while cleaning all this up I threw my babies (Daniel and Oliver) into the shower and since they were both freaking out still, I had to jump in as well.. so while we were all in the shower.... Georgia (our dog) CLEANED up all the poop herself by eating it!!! So then she had to get a bath and teeth brushed (twice)..
All totally worth it cause I laughed so hard...Never a dull moment.. We did sit Grandma down and discuss how to diaper properly... she of course had an excuse about how it is hard to diaper someone in a public restroom without a changing table while they are dancing (and I'm sure pointing out their pee pee)....
she does have a point!

disinfected the ENTIRE house today so that the hubby can host a poker game tonight.... Oliver and I are off to the gym and then sneaking over to TJMaxx to hopefully come across some good finds!!
Backseat Blog
Blogging has taken a backseat in my list of daily priorities and as much as that pains me, i realize that the list of things I want to blog about, the experiences and things we are doing have not taken a backseat... it makes me feel a little bit better but its rather bittersweet... the more we do, the more experiences i have to write about... cause me to have less time to actually write about them.. Go figure, right?
Here is a (hopefully) little sample of what we have going on....
We started back on the house decorating horse... I'm sure its a horse that will live with us forever as i don't think you are ever done decorating but at least one day it wont seem like such a long to-do list.... and once it does, I'm sure we will get pregnant or something crazy like that to make the list long again. This time it was Daniel that suggested we go shopping to places like Ikea and Garden Ridge... even after I told him to have a lazy day at home... who is this man??
Pink eye - Pink eye has infested our home.. First it began to show it's UGLY green goopy side on Friday afternoon and by Saturday morning it had turned my precious little Caucasian into a Chinese man who just got the crap beat out of him... Poor little guy.. It broke my heart and like i do with every sickness of his, i prayed that those germs would have fester in my face instead.... low and behold by Monday afternoon, I looked like I had just had an interesting all nighter with lots of glaucoma medication.. Right now as i type this... I have the bath and body works hand sanitizer clipped to my shirt and I hear Daniel calling from the bathroom that he has stuff coming out of his eye!!
16 months - Oliver is now 16 months old and is quiet cooler than I'll ever be... He wears his Braves hat (that is a mini version of daddy's), he counts... 2,2, free and swings his bat or stand in bat (golf club, toilet plunger, cooking spoon, pen), he now says "uh-oh", bir (bird), and 10's of other words... i don't think my memory is capable of me listing them... he goes to school and doesn't cry when I leave (i have a separate post about school stuff!!), i cant even think.. he is just AWESOME!!
Modeling - I still havent made time for the new modeling agency and honestly I don't know that I can add anything else to my plate right now.. But a video was released from the video shoot he did about a month ago. I NEED to find out how you download a video from you tube!! It is soo cute and he dominated all the shots (i hate, ahem, to brag but the other kid wasn't even in the video).
Here is my school post (since I will probably not ever get back to adding a separate post) - We got his picture day pics back and they were ... cute.... they were awesome cause they are from his first day and he is wearing an awesome pink shirt but the actual picture is ok.. Last Thursday, I dropped him off at school and hung out for a little bit while Oliver went around and kissed all his friends hello and then I played ball and just hung around for a little bit.. it was soo nice.... totally made my day... After work I met my mom and brought her up there with me so she could peek in on him playing and go figure... when we got there at 5 oclockish, he was sound asleep in the corner... We went into his class and before I woke him up.... I had to sign a NOTE... lol... Yep.. On his 3rd day of school, I had to sign an incident report cause Oliver bit someone on the nose.. oopsie!! After I carefully glanced at everyones noses, I picked him up and we went home.. (with one bad ass copy of the note I signed) haha.. i am not contributing to him being bad but I find this soo funny and cute.. Im sure future notes from school wont be as adorable.
my new job - has morphed me into one of those people (my husband) that i hate!! for the record i don't hate my husband... just this trait of his.... I work from the minute i get to work til the minute i leave... i think about my job after work.. I genuinely care about the things I do there.. CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY !!! I do love it and I love my promotion.. I love leading my department and being an important team player to my fellow staff... It really is a great feeling. I am working on a HUGE project right now and I am impressing myself with my dedication, organization and input.. Very exciting, as well as confusing, bittersweet (again, i know... for the same reasons above) and a little nerve wrecking. Proud, non the less.
Daniel is doing great... Playing on his basketball team (not really loving it) and pitching on his softball team (loving it).. Funny, but I have the same feelings as he does towards his two sports... He also is doing AMAZING things at his new job (not so new anymore).... I can tell that Daniel enjoys Oliver more and more each day and they play together so good... He is such a great dad, truly exceeded every expectation I had and I had very high expectations since I had such a great dad.. Daniel is also equally as great as a husband.. he is soo supportive of my new stresses and really takes me into consideration in everything he does.. I love him soo much!!
Ok.. im getting sappy.. time to go do my workout video since OT is still napping! OMG.. i need to mention my 10k.. that is going to need its own post :)

pink eye, chores, a HUGE project deadline at work and a busy husband just about pushed me over the edge at the end of a very busy week. Good thing I am AMAZING at getting things done (when I want to).
Pink eye is awful!! This is actually a good pic, oliver looks way worse!
Oliver's new favorite sleeping position.

1st day
It's a little out of order for someone to have their 1st day of work before their 1st day of school... but as today proved, it doesn't make it any easier.
I enrolled Oliver at a daycare that couldn't be more perfect for us. They allow drop in rates where you pay the registration fee and then you only pay the days they actually come. Oliver will usually only be going on Thursdays for now but since our schedules vary that can change as well. This school is even more perfect for us because I know the director and many of the teachers there including Oliver's. I used to be an assistant director at a daycare and worked with these ladies before. I worked for the director for many years, from when I was like 17 years old!!
The school is great.. Its privately owned and not franchised. The owners are on site and great people. The classrooms are stocked with plenty of toys and has such a cool layout. When we pulled in the parking lot this morning, Oliver could see the playground from his car seat and was pointing so excitedly. I am excited for him too. He will meet friends, learn to play with others and learn important baby knowledge.
So there we were in the parking lot and I as I chocked back tears and unbuckled him from his car seat, i debated just driving off and taking him to work with me... no one would ever have to know he was skipping school at age 1.... except of course my coworkers and boss... but i did the mature mom thing and brought him inside....
I manged to get through explaining Oliver to his teacher. I told her about the paci he likes to sleep with and how it would be comfort if (and at this point I was thinking when) he gets upset, i told her about his biting and boyish ways, i told her I thought he was relatively easy and happy, I would be back around 3 and would probably be all puffy cause I was having a hard time. She gave me her cell so i could text her, I took a few pics of Oliver, quickly kissed him on the head to say goodbye but didn't make a scene and I slipped out. As I was leaving and hoping for a wave and secretly hoping for a tear or two for my own selfish and wrong ego (i know).. I heard him shout "Ball" when he saw another boy had a ball and then the teacher gave him a ball and he was throwing it..
So then I left.... just like that... i just left... got in my car and CRIED my eyes out. I balled like crazy.. I didn't even want to call Daniel or my mom and let them know how it went... I just wanted to cry, well and take myself out to breakfast to soothe my broken heart.
So far, I called once and he was doing great.. he was playing with others, ate snack and drank juice... had picture day (another entry)... and even fell and bumped his head, which he didn't even cry! he actually didn't cry at all yet.... I also texted once and he was sleeping on his mat, his teacher patted his back and he went right to sleep. She said he was doing great!
So its currently 1:58... I have one more hour of torture til this whole 1st day thing is behind me... but poor Oliver only has one more hour to play with his precious new buddies at his big fancy school!
;)
Ill update the rest this evening!

So its currently 1:58... I have one more hour of torture til this whole 1st day thing is behind me... but poor Oliver only has one more hour to play with his precious new buddies at his big fancy school!
;)
Ill update the rest this evening!

Realization
I will not deny it even if it might be a bit weird or lame but Daniel and I have the most amazing conversations and even communicate the best when fighting through text messages.
When we argue, texting gives us each the time to carefully choose our words, review them and a moment or to to think before hitting send. We can both say what we need to without seeing hurt or anger in our beloveds face. Both sides of an argument are expressed and can be reviewed several times during or after in order for each other to really take in what the other is expressing.
Just normal conversations works great through texting for us as well. We obviously text when we aren't around each other so receiving a text lets that person know they are being thought about. A lot of times Daniel and I just send a text that says Hey, the other replies and that's it. Conversations over text are nice to because if we are interrupted we can easily find the exact point where we left off. Especially with our loud, rambunctious, and awesome toddler around... getting interrupted happens A LOT.
Texting back and forth is also a great way to test the waters when wanting something and can sometimes stumble onto noticing something you didn't know was even there..... like Daniel did today..
He texts (BBM's) me with "there are rumblings about a poker game tomorrow night. thoughts? " I tell him I am completely fine with that but would like to have dinner with him first.. He replies with of course and then tells me that everyone wanted to play poker Wednesday night of this coming week but he told them he couldn't play because I have a very much anticipated GNO dinner at Olive Garden (I'm sure he didn't tell them all that). He then texts "I'm very happy for you to go to dinner with your friends" I reply "I am very happy too. And I'm happy you get to see your friends and for you being happy for me" I wont get into the next segment of our conversation cause I am unsure of who still reads my blog but we started discussing my happiness and just like that I began to realize that I am currently the happiest that I can remember. I was never unhappy per say but I don't think I was as happy and content as I am now. Besides some home decor and a few new clothes, my want list (materialistic, changes and any other) is almost non existent.
So I asked him if he could tell. And if he could, how?. He said he definitely could but just replied with "I just can" on how.
I then listed out what currently makes me as happy as I am now and this is what I wrote to him.
"I lost all my pregnancy weight (67 pounds!! plus 1 more), i love your (meaning Daniel's) new job, i have two best girlfriends of my very own, great relationships with other girlfriends of mine, i love our home, have an amazing mom, got a fabulous promotion and raise and am so happy in my career, have our debt and finances in great condition, and have the most incredible boys in the world"
Seeing it written down made me even happier.... so I thought I'd share.
