Husband 1.0

OH my goodness... Michelle i am totally stealing this from you but this is the cutest thing i have ever seen!!!

Dear Tech Support,
Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable programs such as NBA 5.0, NFL 3.0 and Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs and Housecleaning simply crashes the system.
Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail.

What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate

Dear Desperate:

First, keep in mind that Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3 Update.

If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1.Please note that Beer 6.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources!)

In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program.

These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0.

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck!

Some people are so stinking clever!!! :)

" No Pictures Please"

Well actually it is quite the opposite... Oliver had his first day of work the other day... About a month or a month and a half ago Oliver, Gigi and Aunt Kathy were approached at Hobby Lobby by a "baby wrangler" aka Oliver's agent now. Well I have been in talks with her about Oliver doing some modeling for baby products.

A few weeks ago Aunt Kathy, my mom, Oliver and I went to Atlanta for the casting. It was in a warehouse type studio. There were tons of cute babies and kids there. It was really exciting and nerverwrecking for me.. Oliver was completely oblivious. So they take the kids and babies photos, some with their stats behind them, some close ups and a few others. Then these pics are put up for clients to see and choose what children they want to model their particular products.

After casting a week or so went by and I got an email that Oliver had been choosen!! I actually read the email while checking out at Sams Club and i just started crying... I totally creeped out the cashier!

So his photo shoot was this week in Atlanta.. Daniel took off work and came with my mom, Oliver and I to the shoot. He was there to model a neck pillow for carseats. We had to use our own wardrobe cause the size they had prepared for us was too big but i had packed a few onesies so this was perfectly fine. They put him in a car seat and blew in his face to get him to close his eyes so it appeared he was sleeping... It worked and he closed his eyes but each time he smiled cause he liked it... So it appears he is sleeping but having really good dreams... They did get a few shots of him without a smile so i think they will use one of those.. Also they did a shot without the neck pillow and turned his heard so he looked uncomfortable. This was funny! Oliver's agent asked if she could pinch him to get him looking upset (since he was still smiling) and i said whatever it takes... She replied with "Thats it stage mom" haha... im totally not a stage mom (i dont think) but it was funny.

So look for neck pillows around the holidays at Babies r'us, target and walmart. Oliver is wearing a white onesie and is in a brown car seat... Im sure ill post pics! :)

Second Thoughts

I'm having second thoughts on making this private.... i could have the next BIG blog that could make me some money!! haha

why do some people have to piss me off and i have to punish the rest of the world and not share my intriguing stories with them.. i wish i could just block a few people... but really does it matter if they read about how i make baby food??...

any thoughts readers?

Baby Food... so i did it

I am so excited to post that i am making my own baby food and i couldnt be happier doing it. It's easy, quick, and makes me feel so accomplished and so unbelieveably mommy-ish! I have read other blogs on how to do it so i figured i would share my story as well.

I started out with 2 baking sweet potatoes... next time i will do a whole lot more. 2 didnt go very far. I followed the microwave directions but when doing more i think i will cook them in the oven. After they are cooked (you dont need the extra large knife) peel the skin off and cut them up.

Then blend on the puree setting. This was the most difficult part because I had to keep shaking up the blender. I now realize adding water at this point would help.

(i believe that is apples pictured above, not sweet potatoes)

Having a patient and happy baby to keep you company is VITAL... We had a ton of fun "cooking" and watching momma being silly!

WA-LA!!!!
I left the consistency a little chunkier (not sure thats the word im looking for) but adding water would have made it more runny. You can also add water when you heat it up to serve. After you have your puree pour it into ice cube trays and freeze. After it is frozen transfer it to a freezer bag, then pull out a few, microwave for 45 seconds, add water (optional) and serve. I also had some of the small tupperware (i think for saving dressings) that i use to pack it to go.

Finished product.... A messy face but HAPPY baby.

(smile not shown!)

Kelly Smith i will be setting my blog to private on Thursday so please if you would like to follow send me your email address so i can add you.

Kelly Smith loves having dinner with girlfriends, especially old ones! hopefully we don't go another 10 years til we do it again. What a great start to my "weekend!" :)

ALMOST 6 months

There is a counter on my blog......i remember the day, date, time all better than i remember what day it is today or even my name.... i am always telling people "i have a 5 and a half month old"... so with all that you would think i would realize that my little baby is about to be 6 months old.

6 months... Thats half a year, approximately 182 days, 26 weeks, and feels like he is one foot out the door to college... i kid... but really how did this happen!!

Time is flying and ive been realizing that everyday since my 21st birthday (the last time i wished my days away) but parenthood just intensifies it! Now before i go on i must say that i love love love my little ALMOST 6 month old boy... it is soo much fun now.. we laugh til we cry almost daily at how fun and funny this stage is.. but thats just the thing, (i type this with tears forming) i know it wont last but a second and as i look foward to loving the next stage as much as i love this one, i just want to hold it for just a minute.

Remember if you havent already to let me know if you want me to invite you to this blog. Probably this thursday is when i will put the privacy settings on it and you will have to sign it to read it. i know this is an added step but 2010 have made me a bit untrusting of people and i seem to be becoming a more private person... BUT please even if you arent a close friend, family member or aquaintance and you love this blog i welcome you to leave me your email so i can add it. i read many blogs that i wouldnt want taken away from me either.

Privacy Settings

So I am going to leave this blog up for everyone to read for about another week. After that i am going to restrict it to only people i allow.

I have become very protective and a bit private about our lives in 2010. I love sharing our life experiences on this blog to our friends, family and even complete strangers that might be interested in the boring life we lead. (I know my two previous sentences contradict each other) I guess what i am trying to say is that i want protect my family from is from people that want a view into our lives that i have learned i do not trust or even like for that matter. I have become very cut and dry natured, either your in or your out.

If you care about my family succeeding in our lives and would love to be a part of our journey through my blog enteries then send me an email or leave a comment and ill add you to the list. I know this probably sounds so weird but i have alot of exciting news that i would like to share and there is just too many people who may know this blog address that i dont feel i want them to know.

But please I in no way want to deter any friends, family, aquaintances or even strangers from our blog. I read many blogs of people i hardly know and i have such a connection and positive attitude towards them. I just dont want this blog to be available to everyone!

Thanks! And please sign up if you love us.... i want some followers!! :)

My first Mothers Day

So i know last year Daniel wrote me the sweetest blog about my first mothers day but this year is truly my first mothers day. It was absolutely amazing!!

I had to work.. We had a big family gathering reunion type and i just felt like i needed to be here. So daniel got up with me and made me french toast and sausage for breakfast. Then i had a great day at work. After work Daniels parents, Aunt Kathy and my mom came over for dinner. Daniel had went to the grocery store (bought everyone flowers) and prepared our whole meal. It was delicious. He also did some chores and hung some pictures around the house! It was soo nice hanging out with family. Lately i have really wanted to either just be at home or be with our family. While that is not unusual i just have been feeling more of a need for it lately. After they left Daniel drew (spelling?) me a bath, got me a glass of wine and i just relaxed. It was soo amazing. He also surprised me with tickets to see Mary Poppins at the Fox this Wednesday night.

Even with all the stuff Daniel "did" for me on Mothers Day, the most important thing he "did" was the way he made me feel. I truly felt like a million bucks and that was exactly how i dreamed i would feel on Mothers Day...

You did good babe!! Real good... Now i have a little over a month to really do something amazing for fathers day!

Fast Food Challenge

As Daniel and I choked down yet another fast food meal last night i started thinking...

We have both been wanting to shed some pounds and get into shape to become healthier. We have more to live for and be heathly for now.... so lately we have made several adjustments. But we are so busy and so on the go that our dinners of fast food and dining out have been ruining everything. While we love dining out, it is such a bonding and unwinding activity for us, the fast food convienece of just grabbing something to eat is grossing me out and pretty much clogging our arteries day by day.

So on day 5 out of 5 days this week that we ate out i had enough. We couldnt even decide on a place to eat cause we had just had everything there is...

so here we are... beginning tomorrow 5/8/10... we are not eating fast food for a whole month... no matter how convient or strapped for time we are... we are also going to limit the mid night snacks and increase our physical activity.. (which might lead to our evening walks that i LOVE).. and see where that leaves us...

i do want to fit in my skinny jeans and i do want to look hot but now its a whole lot more than that... i want us to be at healthy weights for Oliver..

Baby Food

To make or not to make?

So i have been seeing so many things about making your own baby food and i have started to ask myself some questions... Can i do this? Will i be a better mom if i do? Will i save money? Will i loose my sanity?

In theory it sounds like something i want to do... I am totally into that super mom role and making your own baby food fits the bill... BUT he likes the baby food he is getting.. I don't even cook for me and Daniel so what makes me think i can prepare for Oliver who isn't exactly patient and understanding and can i really juggle another chore right now...

SO the answer is no.. i will not make my own baby food... heck i just stopped making my own baby food.. (hopefully you get what I'm referring to). But i do have to admit, turning down this opportunity makes me cringe a little.. Hopefully i will find some other super mom task to accomplish and bring my spirits back up.

If you are interested in making your own baby food.. below is a link i thought was great... but don't tell me about it, ill be jealous and that's just mean!

Another Frugal Post

Maybe i should start another blog about this topic.. It would be so cool to have a site like the ones i am obsessed with.. One step at a time

I used to be a very trendy person. I was constantly reading magazines and trying to always keep up with the Jones.. whoever they are didnt matter. I cannot say that my new frugal journey i am trying to embark on will consume me enough to let go of that inital thought but over the past few years and especially the last year i seem to be a different person. Of course i still like the finer "middle class" things like GAP jeans and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese but if i can find those things but cheaper then that is my definition of frugal.

I think the word frugal gets a bad wrap.. I think i am just becoming smarter about money.. it has more meaning than it did before.. I used to view money in a never ending cylce.. I used to spend and then payday came and more came in... Now the cycle seems grander... i spend, save, more comes in, i spend less for things and then i have more money and stuff... my cycle is now plus plus.

i dont know where i am going with this... and i know it wont consume my life.. even though its starting to consume my blog.. I have plenty of Oliver stories to fill this blog up with.. Next post will be about him i promise (i could only contain myself for so long)

Day 3

I have fallen back in love with blogging. So here is another post... 3 days in a row!!

Although the only problem with this post is i have nothing to discuss.. haha

Kelly Smith wow!!!... i have my work cut out for me for fathers day!!! :)

2 things on my mind

Last night we spent some time with Daniels family. I had a great time catching up and talking with everyone. Daniel and i discuss frequently how blessed we are to really love our inlaws as much as we do... Well last night Uncle Al was amazed at how laid back i am as a mom.. I have heard this several time from several different people since having Oliver.. I do not see myself as laid back and im sure at times.... Daniel and my mom do not see that either... but maybe i am.. at times that is... :)... if you know me, you know how shocking this realization is. But dont worry.. that nervous breakdown i had just a few days ago over a basketball jersey still got the best of me and my "laid back ways"

ok and for number 2... which i can not remember what it was now... hmmm

oh!!! my new obsession.. Blogs about Frugal Home Economics!! I am OBSESSED!! I am well on my way too! I clipped my coupons for the week. Tomorrow i will make my grocery list and hopefully grab some deals on tuesday! this is one of my may goals that i have made for myself so seeing as it is may 2nd i am well on my way!

and im sure me discussing "may goals" totally contradicts my "laid back attitude"! haha

May 1, 2010 (Very Creative Title, i know!)

So i have been a little intimidated to get back to blogging. Daniel is an amazing writer and I seem to be struggling with articulating for about the past year now... hmmm i wonder what has my mind so cloudy?? ;) But for the sake of memories here i am!

Of course i will do an Oliver update right of the bat... He is 5 months now... He is so awesome!! Even if i didn't have this articulation issue i wouldn't be able to describe him accurately. He is now....

- Eating baby food - We tried this on our 6 hour drive to the beach and he LOVED it! It is such a complete mess but it is alot of fun too. So far to date he has had... carrots, bananas, peas (he hates), and pears.

- Isn't breast feeding anymore - Oliver always preferred the bottle but now more than ever so April 27th was my last day. The process of stopping is very difficult on me but Oliver is a HAPPY HAPPY boy. It is hilarious how excited he gets when I'm making a bottle.

-His cry is changing - His voice is getting deeper.. so cute.

- Loves his feet - Oliver loves playing with his feet.. His toes are always in his mouth.. He can even untie his shoes if i don't knot them tight enough

- "talking" - Oliver is talking, yelling, cooing and shrieking all the time now. He hasn't done it as much when we are out but lately Ive been noticing him doing it more. he is pretty picky on what he laughs about so if he laughs at you take it as a compliment.

- Recognizing - He is definitely recognizing us, Georgia and his grandparents. We recently went away for a few days and Oliver was so funny when he was reunited with Georgia. He really really loves her!

I guess the biggest milestone we've hit this past month is that Oliver was left with babysitters... like not grandparents but hired teenage girls!! CRAZY.. it was so weird... we got a babysitter to come to our hotel in Myrtle Beach while we went out. I found this girl cause she babysits for a friend of mine but i was still so nervous... its funny cause the babysitters mom was just as nervous about us and her daughter babysitting in a hotel. lol... but it went great.. the babies were asleep (Madison was there too) when we left and the babysitter let me text her all night. Really the weirdest part was me being the responsible adult walking the babysitter to her car and handing her the cash instead of it being handed to me. Soo Funny!!! 2 nights later we had another sitter in Charleston... just as weird but went well.... I'm very glad to be back at home and have free sitters!! :)

Anyways... Daniel and I are doing great... We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and 7th anniversary of being together a few weeks ago.. We didn't do much for it but we had very nice QT time and danced to our wedding song.. it was very sweet! Daniel has been working alot since we are back from our little trip but that was to be expected. I am very excited for what looks ahead at his work and i know he is too. Its about to be busy season at my work and i couldn't be happier. I love the summers here. We finally completed our move and are still trying to get settled. I'm sure we will eventually get there but as far as when still seems distant. Hopefully we will be settled enough to have a housewarming party soon!!

OK so I'm going to go but I'm REALLY REALLY going to try to post more! We'll see. ha!
