Softball Nights
Daniel has been playing softball for years.. Actually the first time i talked on the phone with him (when i called him!!) he was on the way to one of his softball games... haha... at the time i actually thought he was going to see like his little niece or nephew or someone play.. i was so naive..
Well i have always gone to his games... like always... i remember the first one i ever went to. I was too nervous to go myself so i made Laura come with me. i also remember my first conversation with Kristen was at a softball game.. She was sitting a bleacher or two in front of me and as sassy as i love her to be.. turned around and said "don't break his heart!"
I am thinking back right now of the countless memories from softball and hopefully will be able to attach the photos to go along with a fraction of those memories to this blog. From the first game we ever took Georgia to, to the one where Daniel lost half of his front tooth, the ones in myrtle beach where Daniel warmed the bench for that insane team that didn't even begin to compare to his team from Georgia, the games in the cold, the hot, the pollen and then the just perfect weather, the times around the concessions stand trying to get Danielle to start the labor process, the game right after we found out we were having a boy, the girl talks, the Taco Mac (mellow mushroom) nights after the game, Oliver's first game, the good games and the BAD games and just the magic of the brotherhood and teammates these boys are to each other that go back way further than my time.
The games are played on Tuesdays and that is always my day off and usually Daniels day off. We almost always have a family day on Tuesday so its not wonder why I, who don't know a thing about softball or even watch the game half the time, have formed such an attachment to the whole thing. I love the drives to softball, the conversations that i can remember having in the car to and from the games. ugh I just cant say enough about it.
I'm sure the other girls think I'm pathetic for always going in this crazy heat were having but now that we have Oliver i think its more important now than ever to go. We are there to support daddy and i think us going means a lot to him. Oliver plays and gets dirty gets to be in this different environment for 2 hours a week. An environment that soon will be all too familiar for his own sport. Daniel mentioned to me last week that during a pretty close scoring game he could hear Oliver yelling and having fun over by the bleachers and it put him in his happy place (his happy place is a technique that Daniel uses in golf where he looks at a photo or a memento that he has with him that relaxes him and just brings him to this happy place and really helps his game.. they used to be pictures of me but I'm confident Ive been replaced). Hearing him tell me that meant the world to me!
So daddy.. i guess what i have blabbed on and on about is the fact that i actually love your softball.. and that Oliver and I will continue to be at those games for as long as you play! We love you so much and i couldn't imagine our lives without your years of softball! Thank you for including me in YOUR extracurricular activity.. now i just need to find my own so you can do the same for me! ;)

Georgia Aquarium
We took Oliver to the Aquarium today! A lot of people were telling us that we were silly for bringing such a young baby to the Aquarium already. We know how excited Oliver gets from looking at the fish at Walmart that we thought we might enjoy it and plus what were we risking.. a joyful day of qt time for me and the hubs...
so anyways we had a lot of fun.. Oliver loved looking at all the fish, the lights and the people. Of course he did not get some of the stuff.. like it was hard to point out the sea otters cause they move around so fast but he loves water so he was just as entertained. It was also nice too cause he didnt know the stuff he was missing... like we dont like the whole sea dragon and star fish area so we didnt even stop to look at those. I fear for the day when we take him and have to stop and look at each one of those exhibits.
Here are some pictures from our day:
will add pics later today

MRS. Mixers
Being the event planner I am.... a few months ago I created a group for women to all get together. Orginally my idea was for a moms group but i didnt want anyone i knew to feel excluded so it turned into a ladies group. Being the busy event planner I am.. I just now got around to holding our 1st event. And oddly enough it was a mommies night out.. well in for me.
All of my favorite girls (moms) came over this past Saturday night. I prepared the main course while each of them brought something to add. I also made my FAVORITE champange punch which I have been totally craving for awhile now. We even had a project to do... Jennifer had an amazing idea that we decorate wine glasses and it was a total sucess.
It was such a fun night. All of us really know each other and have hung out before so the mood was very relaxed, conversation was everything I could have hoped for when starting MRS. Mixers and even our project turned out fabulously!
Thanks ladies for such a great night. Once a month we are doing this!!!

Day with Daddy
I generally work on sundays and daniel is at home with Oliver. i kind of hope it will always work out like this. We both take off on tuesdays and have a family day and then i usually take off another weekday and have oliver to myself, run errands and hang out with friends. then on sunday, Daniel and Oliver have guys day together... i picture fishing, watching sports, practicing baseball in the year and all kinds of boys fun for their future sundays plans but for now it looks a 'lil something like this.
i actually took this am... they loooked too cute in bed and exactly alike! haha

All day at work i got the play by play in pictures of what oliver was getting into around the house. I have never been so happy to see my bbm light come up at work. So here is their day.
this one too. oliver was crawling all over daniel who was trying to get his back scratched

Kelly: he finally got in?
Daniel: yeah, someone left the door open. he was sneaky too. i realized i hadnt heard from him for a while and thats where i found him. soaking wet. he might have eaten some soap. and i know he was chewing on a lufa (he meant loofa)

daniel: im telling you all he wants to do is pull up.

He pulled himself up

Relaxing while watching the Braves game.

Then i joined the guys for dinner at chillis. here is oliver eating his mac and cheese.
and i of course wanted one more shot of my boys!
Woo-eee!
Wow... Jenny you weren't kidding with your comment about 8 months being the busiest yet.. I haven't had a moment to step back and take it all in. But finally...ahh.. here is my moment! :)
so i have mentioned the whole "get dada" hysteria. Lol .... Daniel came back into town and got to hear it but oddly enough Oliver isn't saying it much anymore. I guess he figured out the "D" sound, conquered it and moved on.. He is talking up a storm though. It is hilarious cause he doesn't just talk... he yells everything... and ends most of his "sentences" with a high pitch coo of sorts at the end. ( Note to self.... must videotape). Oliver has been saying "aaayyy" like Joey on Friends did. haha... i guess that's the NYC heritage coming through.. Thanks Grandma!
We have been having tons of laughs at our house. Oliver is exploring everything... A few of his favorites is to DAILY watch us shower.. He crawls up to the shower (we have one of those glass see through showers) and places his hands on the glass and watches us, talks to us.. no privacy! He can push up on the shower and even stands there watching. I got down on the shower floor and pushed my lips up to the glass and he kissed me from the other side. He has even locked me in there.... He pushed up on the door and was just a standing there. Luckily Daniel was home to come get him. I don't know what i would have done if he wasn't.... If i opened the door i would have knocked Oliver down.. I guess if (and probably when with my luck) i will just have to wait him out. But that boy likes to stand... hmmm ..... Another favorite of Oliver's is to eat dog food! UGH! Yesterday Daniel was sweeping the house and i was cooking (i know this doesn't sound like us at all but we were expecting guests) and we heard Oliver "mmming" quite often but i just didn't even think about it and Daniel was coming to the kitchen and found Oliver in the laundry room just chowing down!! HAHA.. Sorry bud but you ate dog food and apparently liked it with all those mmm's we heard!
We officially have a crawling baby.. He started really crawling the day after Daniel got back from Tunica.. So July 26th... he can pull up as well and even started pushing up. This past week Oliver was fussing in the middle of the night and when i went to check on him, he scared the daylights out of me cause he was standing up in his crib.. and we hadn't dropped it yet! He has been getting up in the middle of the night wanting to play.. I think he is soo excited about being so mobile and pushing up on things that he justs wants to move all the time.. It is sadly affecting his work as well. lol. Last time at his photo shoot he JUST wanted to play with the other babies and not sit still for pics. Hopefully next time he will do better... We definitely didn't make that box!
I don't want to make this too long so i guess ill stop but i can honestly talk about my sweet baby cake all day LONG!!! i love motherhood!!! love it, love it, love it!!!!
