This week has left me in a whirlwind.. i feel like so much has gone on and i haven't had a moment to reflect... So i decided to give a play by play of the weeks events... HAHA... I'm sure everyone is going to love this post, so interesting. (yes, there is much sarcasim in my voice)
Sunday- Ohhh Sunday... another lovely day at the Smith household. Everyone came over because i know a bunch of superstitious boys and they wanted to do everything like the week before in an effort to single handily assist the Falcons with another win... So we had friends over, laptops everywhere for fantasy football stats, a cookout, babies cooing, and the best of all Matt and his antics!! Drama or no drama, i love having people over and it was nice to see everyone after i got home from work...
Monday - The great flood of GA... i decided to elaborate on this news topic in a separate post.. and yes, you guessed it, for documentation purposes. haha... So, on Monday i took my Glucose test.. i had to drink this disgusting orange drink (i don't know how some of you liked it) and then went to the doctor and when they went to take my blood precisely an hour later i was so swollen that they couldn't get to any veins... it took about 20 mins to get a vein which was a little stressful since they were so concerned about being exact on that hour.. several arm punctures later and a few endless days of waiting i called the doctor and they told me it came back normal... which i was kind of worried about.. Oliver is a big baby and that sometimes goes hand and hand with gestational diabetes.. aka THE diabetes..... so then we saw Dr. Harrison.. listened to Ollie's heartbeat, measured my belly (which is 4 weeks ahead, I'm measuring 32cm and am only supposed to be 28cm).... and then went a took a peak at what is making this boy so big... i love getting ultrasounds done and am a little distraught to know that my next one may be my last (3d scheduled for Oct. 2nd).... So in the ultrasound they said he weighs about 3 pounds (books say he should just be hitting 2.5 pounds).... he is in the 65th percentile (so 35 percent of babies are larger) and has a full head of hair... i am serious about the hair.. i could see it on the ultrasound and it is flipping in the back.. looks like he may get his first haircut before Christmas (remember he is going to be preppy and clean cut, well except for that Mohawk i cant wait to style)... everything looked good... they took measurments and Dr. Harrison wasn't concerned so that's great news... i feel as if i have more to add here but i cannot think of what
Tuesday - I was off both Monday and Tuesday this week.. so unusual for 2 days in a row but i took full advantage... on Tuesday D went downtown for a meeting... i went out and ran errands, did some chores and caught up on my love for daytime TV... i also had lunch with Danielle and Madison which was sooo nice... just a chance for us to talk... i loved it!! I took an amazing nap, spent some time loving on GA and then got ready and tried to look decent... when D got out of his meeting we talked on the phone for some of his ride and then had another amazing and bonding convo about some stuff when he got home!! ugh how i love those talks!!! we then headed over to Paul and Danielle's for some home cooked ribs they were preparing that night... the food was great and the convo's and stories told between the four of us was incredible... so bonding and so funny!!! we truly are alot alike in our relationships!! Tuesday night Ben came over for our Hells Kitchen show... it was a great episode and at first i was a bit upset that we started it so late since it kept me up past midnight but that worked out because.....
Wednesday - was my mom's birthday... so at midnight i was able to give her her gift and card and sit and talk with her for a bit.. since she works evenings and i work days it sometimes goes awhile that we don't see each other... it was nice to see her on her b-day... i got her a watch (she picked it out) so i was excited to give her her gift!!! i love my mommy so much!! happy birthday again mom! Wednesday night i think was a low key night at home... me and Daniel were both exhausted.. we watched TV.. talked about our plans for Ollie's room.. which is now done being painted and just hung out...
Thursday - i found out i have been exposed to swine flu... the doctors aren't concerned until i develop and cold like symptoms.. when i first called them to tell them i had been exposed she asked me if i had any symptoms.. so then i asked what symptoms should i look for... get this: exhaustion, body aches and fever... she asked if i had any of that in the past few days... my response: "I'm 7 months pregnant... I'm always achy, tired and HOT!!!" seriously if these are the symptoms of swine flu then confirm a case right here ma'am.... geez... well i called my MIL (mother in law) and she said I'm fine unless i get cold symptoms... so I'm trying to be very intuitive with my body but i know i am just fine.... after work on Thursday i went to bed, bath and beyond (I had time, Old school reference), the motherhood maternity store, and Walmart... i got Fabio and Jenn a gift, a dress to wear and picked up our glider.... i came home and we cooked dinner with nick and Kristen (who was trying to raid my closet for something to wear to the wedding) and hung out with them and Luke for the evening...
Friday - worked with Kelley which is always great... and then went to Fabio and Jenn's wedding... it was a BEAUTIFUL wedding, so stylish and i am soo happy for them.. you could just feel the love coming from them.. corny i know but they are such an awesome couple... i saw some people i hadn't seen in a while and the location was soo cute!! and the wedding was alot of fun but i so wanted to party harder, dance, stand and socialize more but i just couldn't.. so i did what i could and sat down when i needed... it definitely hit me the hardest a few times that i couldn't do what i used to be able to... 1. the cupid shuffle... i love that dance! :) 2. They played JUMP around and i wanted to jump... instead i bounced my knees up and down :( 3. the ride home... i love all of you but omg.... that was the longest car ride of my life... i will admit it was hilarious and i am so glad you all were safe and having fun... i just felt super sober and left out!! and y'all just wait a few months til i am blaring music, singing at the top of my lungs, "busting out windows" and demanding a power point from all four of u!!!! haha... just kidding i love you guys and would do it again in a heart beat!! :)
Saturday - now I'm here on Saturday... i had an amazing breakfast and lounging in bed time with GA and Daniel this morning... i even got the "how did i get so lucky" comment after i comforted him in some stress he was having!! that is a good enough compliment to keep me content for the day, maybe even weekend!! haha... we drove over to Nick and Kristen's to pick up my car and then tonight i am going to stop by where Kristen is babysitting.. the boys (D, Nick, Shaun and Dooley and meeting up with CJ and Dallas) are in Athens for the UGA game... i hope and know they will have such a fun day.. we are expecting more rain so i just hope they are safe... I plan on taking it easy tonight... my legs have been driving me crazy this week... Oliver is just putting so much pressure on my hips that blood isn't circulating very well to my feet and then back up.. i originally wanted to go to Duluth days and walk around but a very best friend of mine kind of pointed out the fact that NO i was not allowed to do that.. haha...
OK so if you are still reading the details of my week you must really like me... i didn't have any other topics to post about today so i went with this... pictures will be my next post

Pieces of Paper - Part 2
This is the second piece of paper i wanted to record on here for fear of losing it.... This is the paper where daniel and I recorded all the Old wives tales that we tested out before we knew if we were having a boy or a girl..
We got the list of old wives tale from a baby website:
Mayan Legend: mothers age at conception and the year
if they are both even or both odd = girl
one odd, one even = boy
our result = 26 years old / 2009 = boy
Key: how mother picks up key, by the narrow part or by the round part
narrow = boy
round = girl
our result = narrow, boy
Skin: Mother's skin breaks out
lots of break outs = girl (steals mothers beauty)
clear skin = boy
our result = lots of break outs, girl
Ring: Tie wedding ring to string and hang over belly
circle around = boy
side to side = girl
our result = it circled, boy
Morning Sickness:
sick as a dog = girl
little or none = boy
our result = i was nauseas alot but not sick alot so could go both ways, but i'd say boy
Drano: pee in a cup and add one tablespoon of drano
green = girl
blue = boy
our result = green, girl
Chinese Birth Chart: googled it and it's the age and month of conception on a chart
our result = 26 years old, March, boy
Cravings: sweet or sour or salty
sweet = girl
sour or salt = boy
our result = salty, boy
Heart beat: above or below 140
Above 140 = girl
Below 140 = boy
our result = 150's on June 30th, girl
Carrying: high or low
High = girl
Low = boy
our result = a little early to tell but kind of low, boy
yay... now i have this info saved and can stop freaking out over what "safe place" i have put it in.

Journey Concert
This is a long drawn out story but it is a night i want to remember forever so i will use my disclaimer and say that this is for documentation purposes and i may bore you, sorry.
I got Daniel tickets to go and see Journey for Father's Day months ago and the day was finally here for the concert. I should mention that this day that has finally arrived happens to fall on the wettest week we have seen in a long time. It has been raining since Tuesday and continues to rain... But we are troppers and apparently hard core Journey fans and are still attending the concert, despite concerns from loved ones. This day also happens to fall on a Saturday night where UGA is playing during the same time as the concert and Daniel has been sick all week and I had a bit of a medical scare with some leg swelling and need to take it easier. So i guess hard core Journey fans we are for sure....
We left for the concert not at all in a rush or anything. We were walking out the door and realized we forgot the tickets and forgot to set the tivo (dvr, I call things by their brand names) for the UGA game.. We should have known then that our minds were not in the right place... We head towards Alpharetta with all intentions of stopping somewhere for dinner... doesnt happen... we just could not pick out something, anything to eat!!....we get lost... completely missing our turn but not realizing it for like 7 miles but then are too afraid to turn back.... we get to the amphitheatre (outdoor, i should mention) and realize that we dont have umbrellas, jackets, chairs and it is raining, of course..... we did think think ahead and brought a roll of trash bags (pictured below)..... so we head into the concert and decide we will save money by getting a snack and then eating later... $18.00 for pretzels and drinks... we go find a spot on the lawn where i purchased tickets months ago not foreseeing the large basketball that would be attached to me and sitting on the ground is probably the worst thing i can do for the joints and muscles that this basketball rests apon.. and trust me they are letting me know loud and clear... i lay out a trash bag for each of us to sit on and wah-lah we are ready to go...
now the fun stuff to report about, this about the time that i realize once again that daniel and i have an amazing connection because truely all we need is each other to make the best of any thing we are handed and love every moment of just being together..
so i set out a few more trash bags so we can lay down, prop ourselves up etc.... so we begin people watching and ohh how lucky the selection was!! I cannot even describe the types of people we saw, the awesomely entertaining things they were doing or even the conversations we heard as they walked by... all i have to say is that we got a much better show than we paid for... we layed down for a little bit and i was intranced with watching this old man partying it up, in his mickey mouse poncho mind you, that when i sat up there was soo many people by us.... first i tried to move away because they were teenagers and as much as i hate to admit it i cant stand teenagers!.. geez im old... but then they turned out to be the nicest teenagers ever... they complemented me on my trash bag poncho that i had constructed.... they saw daniel decked out in his UGA gear and asked him if he wanted to know the score... after he told them we were tivoing it they wouldnt talk outloud about it so they didnt spoil it!!!... but they did keep me informed of the score behind his back... :) then these sweet yet rowdy kids who may or may not have been all girls and gay... offered us their SPARE UMBRELLA.... what luck... who has a spare umbrella in the pouring rain... they even moved away to smoke so that "they wouldnt be responisble for the damage of our baby"..... this put lots into prespective and i thought about Oliver's future..... sometimes i am so hung up on what clothes he will wear and what sports he will play that this made me think about how i want him to be that guy (i still want him to be a guy though) in 16 years offering an umbrella to a stranger... then i decided we could have it all and he can dress nice, play the sports of our liking, date the opposite sex and be thoughtful of others... haha... then the kids next to us began smoking pot so my thoughts drifted....
and the opening band came on and i thought they were awful... lots of others loved them and i loved watching them love them.... then there was an intermission and me and daniel had to hide completely under the umbrella because a member of his was sitting directly in front of us... like DIRECTLY... what are the odds... D then took a bathroom break and of course heard that UGA was losing at this point... they rest of the night i limited his fluid intake to avoid that from happening again...
then Journey came on and their new singer sounds just like the old one did.... it was a great show.... they of course save faithfully and there other most popular song which the name escaped me right now til the end... and of course i CRIED when faithfully came on.. (our wedding song)... and we sang to each other, danced and had a blast....
now we are soaking wet and are headed home without any radio to watch the Dawgs win!!
What a great night... Happy Father's Day Daniel and Oliver you have big shoes to fill for Father's Day presents.. Mommy set the bar high!!

Update
So i posted last week about how rough things were going for me. I have to say that since that post i did alot better. I dont know if it was the act of me expressing what i was feeling through words, the encouragement and support from those that lended me a shoulder or a combination of both. Thank you so much to those who said, or wrote, or did something to make me feel better. I feel very blessed by the people i have in my life and i really believe that gave me strength to concur this.
Friday night/ early Saturday morning was a little rough... I started playing the moments over in my head from the night he passed away... after I finally fell asleep i dont know what came over me but i woke up with a whole new attitude. It will always hurt more than words could ever express losing my dad but what was the point in allowing me a day or sorrow just because it shares the same calendar date. I decided to allow myself a day of sorrow, rememberance, and any other feeling when i need it. That day might fall on March 1st, or August 7th or any other day, it might have happened last weekend when i used an entire box of tissues and boo hooed it like a baby...
All i know is that i love my daddy and i spent an incredible morning with my mom yesterday. We went to breakfast and the cementary. I love her so much and it kills me that she feels the same if not more pain as i do about losing my dad.
Once again thank you to those who showed me love and support!!

UGA game in style!!
Daniel and I were more than graciously invited to the UGA/USC game yesterday by some friends of mine. It was the ultimate UGA game experience. We drove up there and parked at "Tate" parking lot which is the closet spot you can possibly get. (i quoted the word tate cause daniel kept telling me how important this was, haha) This was a dream come true to me because of my walking/waddling issues that come along with being 7 months (well....6 months, 3 weeks) pregnant. We then walked across the street and tailgated at what Daniel was calling his life's dream tailgate party. There was more food than one could ever imagine, a grill so large that it had it's own parking spot, a fully stocked bar, keg and games to play.... and they had an abundance of seating which i was quite excited about... This place was soo nice.. We met some wonderful people and had a great time hanging out with friends. We walked around to another tailgate spot where some other friends were at which was like 3 spaces down from our car.

the field
Then it was time for the game. We got to sit in the Sky Club seats. These seats were absolutely amazing. They were approximately on the 30 yard line, front row in the boxes and had the air coditioned interior with a full buffet (and i seriously mean full) and clean restrooms!! It was seriously an experience that is once in a lifetime and it was soo nice.
I had so much fun hanging out with my friends and getting to know them. They were a blast! :)
This day didn't just symbolize a UGA game like no other but it was also Oliver's first UGA game... He slept most of the day because i was on my feet and walking around so much but in the game he was just as rowdy as his daddy!!! It was sooo precious how Daniel would be cheering on his team and stop to say someting cute to my belly. I am sooo excited to show Oliver the pics of him in the womb at a UGA game when he grows up to be as big of a fan as his daddy is (no pressure Ollie, haha).
The third perk of the day/night is that we won!!! UGA beat USC by a pretty close score... (i am so bad, i dont know what the score was... 41/38 maybe?). I do know that it was a pretty intense game and very stressful at times even for me who is not exactly clued into everything that is going on...
I know i have seen Daniel as excited and as happy as he was yesterday but it is sooo wonderful to see again. His smile made every ache and pain and swollen ankle i experienced yesterday not even exist... I am actually impressed how great i felt and how long i lasted! I know that Daniel has been to hundreds of UGA games and i am so happy i got to give him one that will stand out in his memory forever. To quote him "It was the best experience ever!!" That means the world to me.. :)

I finally learned how....
I have been trying to figure out how to do this on my pictures for years and finally today i figured it out... Well i did have some help! But all in all i FINALLY have my wedding picture of me and everything in black and white but the tie on my bouquet...For those of you that dont know... My dad passed away when i was planning my wedding... This red tie around my bouquet is his tie that he wore on the day he married my mom... Even though he physically wasnt there to walk me down the isle, he was still able to hold my hand... Also the color theme for my wedding was black and white... this was the only color incorporated in the day.
It's funny how i finally learned how to make my picture look like this on the very week that he is constantly on my mind...
I love you daddy!!

Hard to Post
So i have found it kind of hard to post lately..... As excited as i was about fall coming it has started a bit harder than i expected.
Pregnancy hormones have been throwing me for a loop. The excitement, the wonder, the joy. Then there is the sadness, fustration, fear!!! whoo... it really takes alot out of a girl... lately i have been feeling alot of fear and fustration...
the fear - the number of days til Oliver comes is getting smaller and smaller and i feel so unprepared.... i really want the nursery to be set up especially since it was the advice of the vet for Georgia's sanity... Everytime we plan to get working on it something comes up and its still not even close to being ready... I have a ton of clothes to go through, sort into ages, wash and plan out the closet.... I definitly feel like i have hit my nesting stage although i think i hit that the day i was born.. haha... another fear i have been dealing with is finanical... i have all these plans to put a ton of money in the bank each month and each month life hands us something else to spend it on... i know i cant expect life to give us a break in order to boost our savings but seriously between IRS, PGA, car trouble, tires, and a ton of other bumps in the road its looking like i am going to have to go back to work the day i give birth.. (perhaps i am being a bit dramatic)
the fustration - i consider myself to be pretty independent in some areas of my life... i certainly have not ever found the strength to eat in a restaurant by myself or kill a spider but i can usually take care of my household and get things done when i want them done... well all of that is OUT THE WINDOW!!! it now takes me forever and a day to do laundry, clean the house, etc... i cannot put things away on the bottom shelf of the cabinet, i find it soo impossible to wipe off the baseboards and yadda yadda yadda.... climbing stairs leaves me breathless.....i consistently waddle at the end of the day, i need to get exercise and so my legs dont cramp and i am having issues sleeping...
ok now that i got all my minor issues posted and off my chest i will expose the bigger issue... this saturday is the 2nd anniversary of my daddys death.... omg, just typing those words took my breath away.... i really dont have any other words to type about this except for the fact that my heart is in a million pieces right now... i just want this week to be over...
the toll this is all taking on me is unbelieveable... the weight of the world in addition to the weight around my belly is so heavy i feel as if my feet continue to dig into the ground... i am so needy right now, so overwhelmed and just so, well i dont even know... the good things i have to really lean on right now... i have an amazing husband and a super precious baby on the way... i have the best doggie in the world... the most amazing mother.. fabulous in laws.. the best friend a girl could ever ask for... a job.. a house... and more.
needless to elaborate, i know i have it good but this week i am going to sulk and throw fits and just wallow in my sorrows... i promise to post again soon...
