Kelly Smith loves costume parties! I had a blast last night. clean up is underway but first a 3 mile walk/run to train and a quick stop by the playground. Fall Festival later :) happy halloween!

11 months old
I dont read what i write at each previous month so forgive me if i list things i have already mentioned.. (I also dont usually capitalize my "I's"... sorry)
Oliver at 11 months old:
- talks, talks, talks, yells, whispers, talks, yells and talks some more
- is shy around new people
- still kissing babies like crazy
- when he hugs us he sometimes says something like "aww"
- if you say aww, he kisses you.. well if he is in the mood
- calls every animal Georgia... we saw a donkey in a manger scence that was "Georgia"
- says stop constantly, finger point and all... how on earth did he learn this one.. ;)
- still doesnt know the meaning when it applies to him
- his first tooth came back... it disappeared for a month but reappeared today
- loves playing on the couch.. he crawls back and forth constently over the sections and it is exhausting cause i have to crawl back and forth to keep him from falling... which he thinks is even funnier.. he can even successfully get down off of the couch by himself... (feet first, see below)... not much luck with the bed however (as we witnessed today)
- is starting to understand how to get off of things, feet first, when he climbs on them
- has no interest in walking.. and as much as it drives me nuts cause he CAN walk... its really ok.. cause it means he is still my helpless baby!
- has become a picky eater... well unless its bread.. then he isnt picky at all
- looks exactly like his daddy
- loves to dance... i mean the boy loves to dance!!
- has the weirdest phases... things he says and does really come in like waves... like a month ago he said dada constantly.. then he said mama (which means baba) constantly.. now were back to dada.. this also goes for toy interest's and other things as well.

Playing in the Rain
Since the weather is cooling down and I am off on Tuesdays I have been having Daniel drop me and Oliver off at the McGinnis Ferry enterance to the Suwanee Greenway and then I walk/run to the softball fields... its an equally beautiful and scary path. It is just so quiet and im so from NYC that I think about our safety. Its probably a 5 mile path. This week however there was an ugly gray cloud that I thought was just passing over but as it did it POURED!!! I mean it poured like crazy and even had some thunder and lighting. After getting completely soaked we hung out under Lawrenceville - Suwanee Rd for a little while and then finish our walk with just a few sprinkles here and there. Oliver LOVED getting rained on. I tried to protect him as best i could with the canopy on his stroller. He laughed so hard and was sticking his hand out.. so funny! He showers alot with me so i bet he thought it was some kind of outdoor bath he was getting.

Halloween Nights of Lights
We went to Lake Lanier's Nights of Lights.. I wasn't expecting much because a friend of mine had already been to it and she wasn't very impressed. Lake Lanier is so close to our home that we just had to check it out for ourselves. Our parents and Aunt Kathy came along and I enjoyed doing something festive with our family more than I can ever express. Here are some pictures from the Carnival at the end. This year was the first time that Lake Lanier did a Halloween Nights of Lights so we look forward to seeing it grow throughout the years.

Party in the Park
For my second 5k (I'm going to have to start doing 10k's soon) I did the C3 Party in the Park to benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. I really enjoyed doing a charity one and will definitely continue to do charity ones here on out. It was a great time.. The weather was cooler and the path (along the Suwanee Greenway) was better. No killer hill this time. I also felt better this time, i think more in shape... It definitely showed because I improved my time by 3 mins! I KNOW I would have done even better if 1. I hadn't worked the day before for 14 hours on my feet in heels and 2. If my feet weren't hurting so bad. I think the combination of the 14 hour day and the fact that I hadn't worn my run tones in weeks and they generally take my feet some getting used to, hurt my time a bit. I bet I could have done 5 minutes faster. I kind of felt like there were times I could have run more or pushed harder. I did take off my shoes for about the last mile or mile and half and came across the finish line barefoot. lol... I didn't know whether to be proud or embarrassed about it. I signed up for my 3rd 5K and am very much looking forward to it. It is the Nights of Lights 1st annual run/walk at Lake Lanier benefiting Toys for Tots. Its an evening run and I am looking forward to seeing the Lights and seeing how Oliver likes seeing the lights!! CANT WAIT!!! :)

We all Scream for Ice Cream
Actually according to Oliver we clap...
My mom just called me and said that they went to Carvel today for some Ice Cream (the high was like 80 degrees today) and with every spoonful of Ice Cream she gave him he clapped his hands. Too cute!! He definitely got that sweet tooth from his dad (and mom..lol)
She then told me about his horrific scene he caused when their was no more left!! Not real sure where he got his temper from... ;)

Braves Season
So its not a secret that I am not the one that puts the tv channel on sports nightly in our house. I do however wish the best for all Georgia teams for the sake of my city and for the sake of my husbands happiness.. This past Braves season was intense and different from past seasons. I am not even going to try to explain in what ways or what actually happened so I found this article to help me out.
Braves, Cox look back on a season to savor

ATLANTA -- More than two hours after the Giants had eliminated them from the National League Division Series on Monday night, many of the Braves were still sitting on the clubhouse couches reminiscing about a memorable season and taking advantage of one last chance to spend some time together.
Somewhere around midnight, Bobby Cox plopped down on one of the couches and simply started shooting the breeze with a group of players who managed to make his final managerial season a memorable one.
"I told Jason Heyward to look at all the guys just sitting there having fun together," third-base coach Brian Snitker said. "I said, 'You can play another 20 years, win world championships and get all kinds of awards, but you might never again be a part of a team like this."
When the Braves overcame a rough start and found themselves with the NL's best record one week after the All-Star break, they started to feel as though they were a team of destiny. Unfortunately, that destiny would lead them through the cruel reality produced by significant injuries and to the ultimate determination that they had indeed done everything they could to make Cox's final season one to savor.
"It was an honor playing with these guys and playing for Bobby in his last year," Tim Hudson said. "We thought we were going to have a good team, and we did have a good team. We dealt with a lot of adversity and injuries at the end of the year. You really have to admire how we finished. The guys showed a lot of guts and a lot of heart. We put our heart and soul in it, and we just came up short."
Still feeling the sting created by their three one-run losses in the NLDS and already looking forward to the start of the 2011 season, many of the players returned to Turner Field on Tuesday afternoon to clean out their lockers, spend some more time together and, somewhat surprisingly, have the opportunity to see Cox again.
Less than 12 hours after he'd left the clubhouse with the realization that he'd never again don a baseball uniform as a manager, Cox returned and was greeted by David Ross yelling, "Skipper!"
Before the start of home games this year, Cox was shown on the Turner Field video board saying, "This is Braves Country."
Without fail, Ross always looked to the end of the dugout and yelled, "You're [darn] right it is, Skipper."
For the first time since midway through the 1990 season, Braves country finds itself without Cox as its leader. The legendary 69-year-old figure will spend the next couple of years enjoying the freedom of the retirement lifestyle and keeping himself close to the game by serving as one of the organization's top advisers.
"One of Bobby's greatest strengths was evaluating players," general manager Frank Wren said. "When we had our planning meetings in October, he was a sounding board as we're talking with the scouts and talking with our folks about the team and potential players. That's part of what we hope his role will still be -- to consult with -- and quite frankly, we want him to be as involved as he wants to be.
"If he wants to be in uniform and be around every day, we'd love that. If he wants to have his own freedom, we understand that, too. But we're going to try to keep him around as much as possible."
As his players packed their belongings on Tuesday, Wren wasn't ready to begin talking specifics about his managerial search, though he indicated that he might be ready to provide more details within the next couple of days.
That being said, Fredi Gonzalez, who served on Cox's coaching staff from 2003 to 2006, still appears to be the heavy favorite to serve as the Braves' next manager.
"This is definitely going to be a big transition for whoever comes in," Hudson said. "Bobby was unbelievable to play for, and whoever replaces him has some really big shoes to fill. But I'm sure whoever they decide to go with, it's going to be a fairly smooth transition."
With his rotation in place and his bullpen possessing a solid base, Wren will enter the offseason looking to acquire at least one veteran outfielder to aid his offense. His wish list also includes a veteran reliever who could prove dependable and also serve as a mentor to the likes of Jonny Venters and Craig Kimbrel, both of whom will enter the 2011 season as the favorites to serve as closer.

UGA vs Vandy
Yesterday we went to the UGA football game .. Oliver's first game!! :)
We had such a blast.. The weather was perfect.. Actually a little too summer like... We sat on the side with the sun and roasted.. It was better than being cold on the other side that was in the shade.
The game was great. Georgia beat Vandy like 43 to 0... I think its so funny cause my 1st UGA game (versus South Carolina (at USC) back in 2006) UGA shut out (i think that means they didnt score any points, im hoping thats what that means) USC.
At this game they were introducing the new Uga dog... Uga the 8th... A few times they put him up on the hedges but also a guy would take your camera and take a picture for you. We even saw his car in the parking lot with the licensce plate UGA VIII. I regret not taking a pic of it.
We went with the Lamberts (without Cooper.. we figured we will photoshop him in later) and had a blast. We didnt get a chance to tailgaite much and didnt make it to the end of the game but we really had a great time!! Oliver loved playing in the seats. we were soo lucky to have seats with backs on them!! He also REALLY enjoyed watching the cheerleaders and these goofy dudes that were painted up and he was of course interested in the band!

Daniel and I
I am always posting things about Oliver so i decided to do a little documentation of where daniel and I are at right now..
We have been at our current companies almost 4 years now!!! So crazy... Actually it isnt until the end of January that it will be four years but still.. It really seems like yesterday.. The saying that applies to children, the days are long, but the years are fast, i guess also applies to the workforce. I guess our jobs arent much of a topic generator right now. Actually there are a few changes that cannot be discussed so ill just move right along..
Date nights.. We have re-instilled date night back in our life.. it was daniels idea too!!! He suggested a monthly date night without Oliver or our friends or family.. Of course I couldnt think of a more perfect thing and reacted cool on the outside but on the inside I felt like he had just asked me on our first date all over again. Our marriage is really going great. Of course we have ups and downs and arguments here and there but we really have been floating on this little cloud nine now for a while.. I mentioned how much I love October right... This month we have together for 7 and a half years!! Amazing.. truely, truely amazing!!
Sports (Daniel)... i mentioned to daniel last night about him writing a blog entry about the braves this year so that will be posted soon (well hopefully soon)... I know he was devesated that the season ended but goodness baseball season just drags out once it is football season. I am looking forward to his blog entry! He really is an amazing writer and I am horrible with articulation so he always manages to impress me.
Me.... I am "training" for my next 5k next Saturday. I thought this time I would run all the time and get all pumped for it and NOTHING.. i did loose about 10 pounds so hopefully that will help me out... My baby weight is SLOWLY but surely melting off (just wish it wasnt moving as slow as molasses). I am really enjoying being back at the gym, doing spin classes and trying to fit running into my schedule. I am also making more time for myself and my own friendships... Some days I am totally caught up in mommyhood and others I am embrasing who I used to be. Its a constant struggle I suppose but LOVE every minute of being me... (well maybe not every minute)!
I guess thats all I will include.. :)

Carried Away
So excited!! We are taking Oliver to his first UGA game (out of the womb) on Saturday. A friend of mine wasn't able to go so she gave us 6 of her tickets. We invited the Lambert's to come along and they are going to bring Cooper and Haley as well. Unfortunately babies need tickets so we are one ticket short but we will get one by Saturday.
So to the "carried away" part... Last night Daniel and I were discussing our plans and I told him how awesome it is that it is Oliver and Coopers first game.. Then I thought about how even more awesome it would be if they actually grow up as friends and go on to play football at UGA!!! No pressure boys!! But if it does work out we can look back 17 years to this blog where I called it... lol :)

Buford Corn Maze
Last Friday we got together with the Lamberts and went to dinner and then decided to go over to the Buford Corn Maze right by our house. I wanted to go so badly last year but Daniel would not allow me to (i had just had that fall and was very pregnant) so finally we went this year and went with the perfect people. This little place was soo cool. There was a hayride, corn pit, maze, and face painting.
