Baby Food
To make or not to make?
So i have been seeing so many things about making your own baby food and i have started to ask myself some questions... Can i do this? Will i be a better mom if i do? Will i save money? Will i loose my sanity?
In theory it sounds like something i want to do... I am totally into that super mom role and making your own baby food fits the bill... BUT he likes the baby food he is getting.. I don't even cook for me and Daniel so what makes me think i can prepare for Oliver who isn't exactly patient and understanding and can i really juggle another chore right now...
SO the answer is no.. i will not make my own baby food... heck i just stopped making my own baby food.. (hopefully you get what I'm referring to). But i do have to admit, turning down this opportunity makes me cringe a little.. Hopefully i will find some other super mom task to accomplish and bring my spirits back up.
If you are interested in making your own baby food.. below is a link i thought was great... but don't tell me about it, ill be jealous and that's just mean!

Another Frugal Post
Maybe i should start another blog about this topic.. It would be so cool to have a site like the ones i am obsessed with.. One step at a time
I used to be a very trendy person. I was constantly reading magazines and trying to always keep up with the Jones.. whoever they are didnt matter. I cannot say that my new frugal journey i am trying to embark on will consume me enough to let go of that inital thought but over the past few years and especially the last year i seem to be a different person. Of course i still like the finer "middle class" things like GAP jeans and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese but if i can find those things but cheaper then that is my definition of frugal.
I think the word frugal gets a bad wrap.. I think i am just becoming smarter about money.. it has more meaning than it did before.. I used to view money in a never ending cylce.. I used to spend and then payday came and more came in... Now the cycle seems grander... i spend, save, more comes in, i spend less for things and then i have more money and stuff... my cycle is now plus plus.
i dont know where i am going with this... and i know it wont consume my life.. even though its starting to consume my blog.. I have plenty of Oliver stories to fill this blog up with.. Next post will be about him i promise (i could only contain myself for so long)

Facebook Status - 05/09 (2)
Kelly Smith wow!!!... i have my work cut out for me for fathers day!!! :)
2 things on my mind
Last night we spent some time with Daniels family. I had a great time catching up and talking with everyone. Daniel and i discuss frequently how blessed we are to really love our inlaws as much as we do... Well last night Uncle Al was amazed at how laid back i am as a mom.. I have heard this several time from several different people since having Oliver.. I do not see myself as laid back and im sure at times.... Daniel and my mom do not see that either... but maybe i am.. at times that is... :)... if you know me, you know how shocking this realization is. But dont worry.. that nervous breakdown i had just a few days ago over a basketball jersey still got the best of me and my "laid back ways"
ok and for number 2... which i can not remember what it was now... hmmm
oh!!! my new obsession.. Blogs about Frugal Home Economics!! I am OBSESSED!! I am well on my way too! I clipped my coupons for the week. Tomorrow i will make my grocery list and hopefully grab some deals on tuesday! this is one of my may goals that i have made for myself so seeing as it is may 2nd i am well on my way!
and im sure me discussing "may goals" totally contradicts my "laid back attitude"! haha

May 1, 2010 (Very Creative Title, i know!)
So i have been a little intimidated to get back to blogging. Daniel is an amazing writer and I seem to be struggling with articulating for about the past year now... hmmm i wonder what has my mind so cloudy?? ;) But for the sake of memories here i am!
Of course i will do an Oliver update right of the bat... He is 5 months now... He is so awesome!! Even if i didn't have this articulation issue i wouldn't be able to describe him accurately. He is now....
- Eating baby food - We tried this on our 6 hour drive to the beach and he LOVED it! It is such a complete mess but it is alot of fun too. So far to date he has had... carrots, bananas, peas (he hates), and pears.
- Isn't breast feeding anymore - Oliver always preferred the bottle but now more than ever so April 27th was my last day. The process of stopping is very difficult on me but Oliver is a HAPPY HAPPY boy. It is hilarious how excited he gets when I'm making a bottle.
-His cry is changing - His voice is getting deeper.. so cute.
- Loves his feet - Oliver loves playing with his feet.. His toes are always in his mouth.. He can even untie his shoes if i don't knot them tight enough
- "talking" - Oliver is talking, yelling, cooing and shrieking all the time now. He hasn't done it as much when we are out but lately Ive been noticing him doing it more. he is pretty picky on what he laughs about so if he laughs at you take it as a compliment.
- Recognizing - He is definitely recognizing us, Georgia and his grandparents. We recently went away for a few days and Oliver was so funny when he was reunited with Georgia. He really really loves her!
I guess the biggest milestone we've hit this past month is that Oliver was left with babysitters... like not grandparents but hired teenage girls!! CRAZY.. it was so weird... we got a babysitter to come to our hotel in Myrtle Beach while we went out. I found this girl cause she babysits for a friend of mine but i was still so nervous... its funny cause the babysitters mom was just as nervous about us and her daughter babysitting in a hotel. lol... but it went great.. the babies were asleep (Madison was there too) when we left and the babysitter let me text her all night. Really the weirdest part was me being the responsible adult walking the babysitter to her car and handing her the cash instead of it being handed to me. Soo Funny!!! 2 nights later we had another sitter in Charleston... just as weird but went well.... I'm very glad to be back at home and have free sitters!! :)
Anyways... Daniel and I are doing great... We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and 7th anniversary of being together a few weeks ago.. We didn't do much for it but we had very nice QT time and danced to our wedding song.. it was very sweet! Daniel has been working alot since we are back from our little trip but that was to be expected. I am very excited for what looks ahead at his work and i know he is too. Its about to be busy season at my work and i couldn't be happier. I love the summers here. We finally completed our move and are still trying to get settled. I'm sure we will eventually get there but as far as when still seems distant. Hopefully we will be settled enough to have a housewarming party soon!!
OK so I'm going to go but I'm REALLY REALLY going to try to post more! We'll see. ha!
